A Series
The lights in the Chihiros A Series are intended to be mounted on exposed aquariums. Employ extremely bright LEDs with low power consumption (0.25-0.36 W per chip) to achieve high light output while using less energy and heating up the system.
Among these devices’ benefits are:
- High level of color rendering HCRI=88%.
- PAR, similar to the radiation of T5 lamps, which have become the de facto standard of lighting equipment for aquariums.
- Long service life (mean time between failures 50 thousand. hours).
The lamp’s (aquarium) length is a characteristic parameter that is used for marking.
The color temperature of 8000K is the upper limit of the range that is suggested for aquatic plants.
The following models are part of the series:
Model | Length of aquarium for installation, cm | Power consumption, W | Luminous flux, Lm |
A201 | 20 | 12 | 1800 |
A251 | 25 | 15 | 2350 |

The luminaire comes with a power adapter and all necessary installation fittings. A dimmer for manually adjusting the illumination to seven levels—30%,50%, and finally, the maximum every 10%—is also included in the set.
Skilled aquarists identify a few drawbacks with the apparatus:
A plus series
An effective adaptation of the A series devices is the A+ series.
The lamps that were acquired:
- 2 additional rows of LEDs;
- Height-adjustable fittings for installation.
This solves the primary issue with the A series, which was inadequate lighting close to the aquarium’s walls. The luminous flux has also increased concurrently.
Models from the series:
Model | Length of the aquarium for installation, cm | Power consumption, W | Luminous flux, Lm |
A301 plus | 30 | 30 | 4600 |
A401 plus | 40 | 40 | 6400 |
A451 plus | 45 | 45 | 7200 |
A501 plus | 50 | 55 | 7950 |

A901 | 90 | 95 | 14200 |
A1201 | 120 | 130 | 19200 |
Other than that, the LEDs’ and the lamps’ overall qualities are comparable to those of the A series gadgets. Both the devices’ back surface heating level and their IP43 design—which forbids installation beneath a cover—remain unchanged.
Series C
The lighting fixtures in the Chihiros C series are designed specifically for nano aquariums. same incredibly bright LED modules as the A series are used.
Features that set the C series devices apart:
- design in a stylish thin (up to 5 mm thick) case with a protection rating of IP 67.
- Mounting on the wall with a clip (C series) or installation on an elegant stand (C II series).
- Fewer LED modules and, accordingly, low power consumption with sufficient luminous flux for a nano aquarium.
The series consists of:
Model | Aquarium size for installation, cm | Power consumption, W | Luminous flux, Lm |
C201 | 20 | 7 | 750 |
C251 | 25 | 10 | 1150 |
C301 | 30 | 14 | 1500 |
C361 | 35-36 | 18 | 1850 |
The following lamps are part of the modified C series, which was given the manufacturer’s code CII:
- CII (white). It is designed for a 20 cm aquarium, equipped with high-brightness white LEDs with minimum power consumption (0.26W for each). The device provides a luminous flux of 1500 lm with a total power consumption of 16 W.
- CII RGB. It is also designed for a 20 cm aquarium, but is equipped with RGB 3-in-1 LEDs. With a power consumption of 20 W, it provides a luminous flux of 1580 lm.
The designs of both models incorporate an integrated USB controller for lamp control. The methods of communication and mode selection are done through the Chihiros Magic mobile application. With an IP 43 protection rating, the device’s design also deviates from the original C series.
E series
The popular ADA Aquasky lamp series is imitated in the Chihiros E series, where a steel or acrylic stand with a light panel mounted on it is placed atop a can.
A Japanese manufacturer of LED modules with a 0.5 W point source power and higher luminous efficiency is used in this series. Consequently, the devices offer nearly twice as much luminous flux as comparable lighting devices from the A series, assuming all other factors remain constant. Because the power increase necessitated an improvement in heat transfer, the light panel’s back is composed of aluminum alloy. Unlike the A series, the modules are mounted on a printed circuit board (on a board) rather than in a tape.
A lower color temperature of roughly 7000k and a Deep Blue spectrum peak with a wavelength of 450–470 nm are two more differences.
At the same time, the design satisfies IP43 requirements and the plate temperature remains between 45 and 50 o C. Therefore, it is also not possible to install the lamp underneath the cover.
According to the series:
Model | Length of the aquarium for installation, cm | Power consumption, W | Luminous flux, Lm |
E201, E251 | 20, 25 | 13.5 | 1250-1350 |
E301, E311, E351, E361, E401 | 30, 3. 35, 36, 40 | 18 | 1700-1800 |
E451, E501 | 45, 50 | 27 | 2500-2700 |
E452, E502 (with dual light panel) | 45, 50 | 54 | 5200-5400 |
E601 | 60 | 36 | 3500-3600 |
E602 (with dual light panel) | 60 | 72 | 7000-7200 |
The stainless steel construction of the stand is indicated by the S in the model number (E201S, for example), while the increased height of the acrylic supply to 195 mm is indicated by the H (E601H, for example).
S Series
Standard T5/T8 fluorescent lamps can be replaced with Chihiros S series LED lamps, which offer improved lighting parameters for aquariums. Modules with a single power of 0.31-0.36W, akin to those used in the A-series, were employed in the production of S-series devices.
The gadgets can be installed beneath the aquarium’s cover or outside of it. A housing that complies with IPX4 standards offers protection against moisture.
In place of T5/T8 lamps, the lamps are delivered with adapters ready for installation.
Models from the manufacturer’s new LED line include:
The color temperature of LED radiation is approximately 8000K.
For aquarium enthusiasts seeking dependable and effective LED lighting that accentuates the beauty of their tanks, Chihiros lamps are a popular option. These lights are appropriate for all kinds of aquariums, whether freshwater or marine, because they are made to offer the ideal ratio of brightness to color spectrum. Chihiros lamps provide a striking visual effect and aid in the promotion of healthy plant growth and vivid fish colors. Their sleek designs and adjustable settings make them aesthetically pleasing and functional, making them an excellent choice for both novice and seasoned aquarists.
X Series
The LED lamps in the Chihiros X series have higher luminous flux intensities. created especially to provide the necessary amount of light for bottom vegetation (soil covering) or to light aquariums with high water column heights.
The company uses COB (Chip-on-Board) LED to maintain the device’s dimensions while achieving such a result. By doing this, you can produce a strong luminous flux by increasing the concentration of point sources per unit area.
The growth of the power dispersed throughout the device’s volume causes a side effect of increased heating, necessitating additional cooling measures. This is accomplished by installing a built-in fan and using a powerful aluminum alloy radiator in the case construction. It goes without saying that these lights installed beneath the lid are silent. As a result, IP43 is the level of body protection.
The case with the design installed on the bracket allows the lighting panel to be rotated in a horizontal plane. A clip is used to mount the device on the aquarium wall (maximum glass thickness of 12 mm).
Four models are in the series:
Model | Aquarium size for installation, cm | Power consumption, W | Luminous flux, Lm |
X100 | 60 | 50 | 4200 |
X200 (dual COB module) | 60-90 | 100 | 8000 |
X300 | 60 | 65 | 4500 |
X400 dual COB module) | 60-90 | 90 | 3800 |
"Warm" (Warm) LED modules with a color temperature lower than 6000K are used in X100 and X300 luminaires, while RGB-in-one LEDs are used in dual (COB*2) modules.
RGB Series
The Chihiros RGB series luminaires and the A series are nearly identical in terms of structure. The distinction is that red, green, and blue LEDs are used in addition to white ones.
For instance, in RGB30, out of 60 point sources:
- White -14;
- Green -20;
- Red -20:
- Blue – 6.
Every lamp in the series maintains roughly the same ratio. The lamp thus emits light with a color temperature of roughly 8000K. There are no reflections when colored highlights are used at the bottom and in the volume.
The channels are not under separate control. Every LED has a variable brightness, and a seven-position dimmer is included.
The device is mounted using steel legs on acrylic mounts on the aquarium walls (glass thickness ranging from 6 to 12 mm), allowing you to change the installation height.
Heat transfer is enhanced by the corrugated surface and anodized aluminum alloy body. In spite of this, heating to 40–50+ o C is observed in the maximum mode, which frequently causes the plastic substrate to deform.
Among the lamps in the series are:
Model | Aquarium size for installation, cm | Power consumption, W | Luminous flux, Lm |
RGB 30 | 30-45 | 25 | 1200 |
RGB 45 | 45-60 | 37 | 1850 |
RGB 60 | 60-80 | 50 | 2450 |
RGB 90 | 90-110 | 68 | 3300 |
RGB 120 | 120-150 | 81 | 4400 |
The luminaire is not mounted beneath the cover; rather, it is intended for external installation.
RGB A plus series
The RGB A plus series varies from Chihiros RGB in that each color channel can be controlled independently and white LEDs are not present.
Control is provided by the Chihiros Commander 4 controller and the Chihiros Magic application, which uses Bluetooth to connect the controller and mobile device. The lamps have been updated with a built-in Bluetooth controller and slightly altered power and luminous flux.
Models from the series:
Model | Aquarium size for installation, cm | Power consumption, W (original/updated version) | Luminous flux, Lm (original/updated version) |
RGB A301 plus | 30-45 | 23/23 | 970/1200 |
RGB A451 plus | 45-60 | 29/35 | 1250/1800 |
RGB A601 plus | 60-80 | 40/45 | 2030/2400 |
RGB A901 plus | 90-110 | 73/69 | 2500/3600 |
RGB A1201 plus | 120-150 | 95/90 | 3150/4800 |
The installation technique and design are essentially identical.
WRGB/WRGB II series
The luminaires in the WRGB series are a hybrid of the RGB and RGB A plus series. First, they were given 4-color LEDs (RGB and white, which were separate in the original model and combined into one in the WRGB II series); second, they were given the option to control each channel independently.
The high light output of the series makes it possible to use it for lighting demanding aquariums and aquascapes, which is another significant difference.
There are two versions of the series devices available: the original and the updated version, which is referred to as the WRGB II Series by the manufacturer. An external 4-channel Chihiros Commander 4 controller (supplied and purchased separately) is used for the first with separate control. There is an integrated Bluetooth controller in the WRGB II model. The Chihiros Magic mobile app is used to control the channels.
Composition of a series:
Model | Aquarium size for installation, cm | Power consumption, W (WRGB/WRGB II) | Luminous flux, Lm (WRGB/WRGB II) |
WRGB 30/ WRGBII 30 | 30-45 | 39/33 | 1800/2300 |
